Carla Pontes

Carla Pontes grew up between ballet lessons and her family’s textile business, nurturing a strong artistic sense and a technical knowledge of fabrics and production methods. Fascinated by the design process thinking, graduated in Equipment Design (2008) in between Oporto and Milan, before studying Fashion Design at CITEX/MODATEX. A few months after finishing the Fashion Design course, Carla is one of the winners of the Portugal Fashion’s design contest that gave her the opportunity of presenting her first collection, in 2012, at young creators platform BLOOM. Since then, Carla has been developing her homonymous brand with regular presentations at Portugal Fashion’s national and international circuit. Her design balances volumes and textures influenced by her equipment design background.
